Foster
Finished this novella last night. I will reread it because I want to digest it again. When I read fiction, I tend to rush through, focusing on plot. This is ironic because I'm a poet and accustomed to much slower reading since poems often demand such. So I'm retraining myself to do this with longer forms. What struck me about this on the first read is how Keegan navigated telling this story through the child's POV quite skillfully, much like Jenny Offill did in Last Things (a big favorite of mine). I also was interested in the syntax of the dialet, as this is set in the Irish countryside. A definite recommend, and what a beautiful cover and presentation by Grove Press.

Love Foster. Have you read Small Things Like These? I recommend it as well!
Love this book!! Keegan is brilliant: simple and profound.
